Apparently you can still use the modern syntax by invoking a compiler
directive, but I have it on good authority that you shouldn't do so since
the abomination, er, modern syntax support will very likely be removed...

One thing that caught my attention is the "modern syntax" form of
Objective-C, which looks a lot more like C/C++, eschewing brackets for
periods. Is that still viable?
