respond to one purely factual and incorrect part of your post:

The definition of Inane from Merriam Webster (
http://www.m-w.com):
1 : EMPTY, INSUBSTANTIAL
2 : lacking significance, meaning, or point : SILLY
You'll notice that there are two accepted definitions of Inane. I'll admit
that your post contained substance, - all of which was definition 2, silly.
And the answer to your second question is Yes, I absolutely would (and
believe I have) told many people around here, including my manager and my
department head, that ideas they had were inane.
So, I'm going to spare the group because this discussion is clearly not
benefitting anyone. If you wish to continue, feel free to do so; I can
assure you that I am not as easily offended or as insecure in the worth of
my prior statements as you appear to be.
