Like I said, it's a protocol. You could probably implement it in
Eiffel, Lisp, ML, Scheme, or Cobol.

ODBC and JDBC adapters for a living just to make sure my air
Where's the strategic advantage for Apple to sell more OS X boxes
if a product written in Java can be easily ported elsehwere? After all,
Apple is a _hardware_ company, is it not?
More to the point, why use Java if you're not going to get the "write
once, run anywhere" advantage?
FWIW, in my own experience, Python comes closer to fulfilling that as
a reality than Java ever did, but I digress.
