Software Update would be useful for fine-grained updates. It should
work pretty well for, say, updating documentation html files, new
examples, release notes, technotes, or similar things. Updates
that needn't wait for the next big download.
It might be nice if there were a separate app called Developer Software
Update, which allowed users to 'subscribe' to particular things, and
ignore other things.
