My apps are meant to be installed on HFS/HFS+ volumes.
You mean you willingly make it impossible for me as a UFS user to use
your apps? (I have to admit, though, that I have no idea what your apps
are, and if they are of interest for a generic Mac OS X user.)
Contrary to popular belief, UFS support all HFS+ meta-data, including
type/creator. Actually, all file systems (including FAT32, etc) support
HFS+ meta-data. The problem of "losing" type/creator information only
arises when exchanging files with someone not running Mac OS X and using
a volume format other than HFS.
