Apple has said that only Apple will be able to use the System Preferences model? That is not very good. That is like saying that only Apple's apps are allowed in the Applications folder. Either the API should be published, or else we are going to have a ton of hacky modules down the road.

So where does Apple suggest such items to be placed?
