Finder Refresh

Ok... I am developing an app that batch generates html files ... so far so good. When I passed it on to my testing department (girlfriend), she set the files to save to the desktop, moving the app window around didn't help her find the files, so she minimized the window still no files on the desktop. "It dosn't work". Of corse the files are there but the finder didn't refresh. I realized that mac users are used to having the desktop be a reliable representation of what is actually in their desktop folder (well.. most probably don't think of the desktop as a folder). X has changed that. It really isn't that big of a deal but it has been bothering me, I can't find a simple way to make the finder refresh. Am I just overlooking something? A quick snippet of code would be great.
Thanks - LittleBilly
