Problem with NSToolbar in Java?

  • Subject: Problem with NSToolbar in Java?

I downloaded the Toolbar example source last night. I modified a Java
example I've created to include one key thing from the example that I wasn't
possibly doing correctly: returning a new copy of the toolbar item from
-itemForItemIdentifier. Previously, I was returning the master copy itself.
However, now that I return a new copy of the master, the toolbar items are
never enabled, and validateToolbarItem never gets called when the toolbar is
populated with the copies. It works fine returning the master copies
however, but I am pretty sure that returning the master copies was leading
to an intermittent bus error I was getting when trying to validate my
toolbar after doing something.

Is this a bug in the framework, or could I possibly be doing something
wrong. From what I can see, I've included all the necessary functionality in
my Java version that is in the Object C version.

I can provide a PB project if anyone would care to look at it.

Michael
