I'm working on a project with a group of friends, and we would like to implement a tab view similar to Project Builder's sliding Build/Run/Find/Debug section. When we started looking at NSTabView we found that several parts were unfinished. The current state of NSTabView has left us wondering if we should write our own TabView class to handle it, or if the current NSTabView can handle it, and if so, how?

Handle what? What functionality are you missing?

You can only have tab views with labels at the top, or no labels at all, currently. Tab view/slide view combinations like those in Project Builder are not supported, as far as I can see.

On the other hand, they should be fairly simply to do. Create a cell class for the "tabs". Reuse NSSplitView and NSTabView, and an NSMatrix for the tab cells.
