ANN: PowerGuardian beta 2 is released.

  • Subject: ANN: PowerGuardian beta 2 is released.

PowerGuardian communicates with Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's) from
the most popular manufactures. It works with both Serial and USB based UPS's
and will safely bring down the system, when then power fails.

Serial UPS's require a Keyspan USB to Serial adapter.

Lot's of changes and improvements, including a Preferences Control to start
and stop the daemon, better event recording, and support for more UPS's.

PowerGuardian also includes an AppleScript to tell every application to save it's files.

The releasepace will pick up after this, as I go for RC1.

You can find PowerGuardian at http://www.powerguardian.com follow the downloads link.

Due to the number of changes, I'd appreciate feedback on usability, installation and
of course any crashes.
