You can add images to the "images" suitcase in IB if you want
Suitcase? I find nothing that looks like a suitcase, and the IB Help
has nothing about a suitcase!
You can tell from that slip that Erik has been using NeXTSTEP for a
*long*
time. That should be the "Images Tab" in the IB document window.
Actually, these days, if an image file is part of the same PB target
as the nib, it should just appear in the images tab. Embedding images
in the .nib file itself is not encouraged.
Okay, now I'm really confused! I did try to drag the image into the
"Images tab," but it would not take! As for this "PB target," I did a
search and read what I could find on "target" in the IB so-called help
and found NOTHING of interest. I did find some discussion of "target"
in PB help, if I remember right, but it was not clear how that
discussion related to images--there was nothing about images at all.
So, I tried to put the image file into my folder with the main.nib--no
go; then tried to put it into the project folder--again no go! Where
do I find the documentation on this stuff? What is this "target" and
where is it?
Add the image(s) you want to your project. I usually put them in the
"resources" folder.
The leftmost column of the "files" tab in Project Builder is where you
select which files are included in which targets. Clicking in that
column adds or removes files from the target.
If the image is included in the same target as the .nib file you're
editing, then the image will appear in the "images" tab in the IB
document window.
