Back away from the Clean All button! Nobody's going to hurt you. Targets
live inside ProjectBuilder. All PB projects have at least one (and for
smaller projects, usually only one). Here's what you do.
1) Open your PB project
2) Add your image file to this project.
a) This is where it asks you for a target. If you've only got one,
choose that one. The important thing is that the nib your editing must
be in the same target as the image...otherwise IB won't show it to you.
3) Double click on your nib so it launches IB
4) In the Images tab, you should see your image listed.
If you still don't see it, check to make sure the image is something
Cocoa understands (which is pretty much everything, but maybe you've
laid your hands on some bad 1980's Targa mojo). Make sure that the nib
IB is editing is the same nib you think is in the project. Make sure
you're using a Cocoa nib (as this is a Cocoa project).
If PB had an open project which contained your nib, it should have taken
the drag in the first place. Let me know if you have any other questions.

You can add images to the "images" suitcase in IB if you want
Suitcase? I find nothing that looks like a suitcase, and the IB Help
has nothing about a suitcase!
You can tell from that slip that Erik has been using NeXTSTEP for a
*long*
time. That should be the "Images Tab" in the IB document window.
Actually, these days, if an image file is part of the same PB target
as the nib, it should just appear in the images tab. Embedding images
in the .nib file itself is not encouraged.
Okay, now I'm really confused! I did try to drag the image into the
"Images tab," but it would not take! As for this "PB target," I did a
search and read what I could find on "target" in the IB so-called help
and found NOTHING of interest. I did find some discussion of "target"
in PB help, if I remember right, but it was not clear how that
discussion related to images--there was nothing about images at all.
So, I tried to put the image file into my folder with the main.nib--no
go; then tried to put it into the project folder--again no go! Where
do I find the documentation on this stuff? What is this "target" and
where is it?
