html in a custom view

i am writing my app in java. java doesn't have the
NSURL class. i was told that i could use a Htmleditor
in a custom view to view webpages from the app. so i
created a customview, and a custom controller. in the
contoller i imported
java.swing.text.html.HTMLEditorKit and assigned the
customview to an Outlet called customViewer. i am
wondering how i would assign the editor and a URL to
the customViewer.
if anybody knows a better way tp go about this, please
let me know
