Type?

One would think that the following error message would be simple to understand, but I have not been able to get rid of a dozen or more of the bloody things:

undefined type, found `someClass'

I ran into this before and one fix fixed all, but now I can't remember what the hell I did.
Again, sorry for the noise; does _anyone_ know where these error messages might be documented, so I can look there first? Thank again all.
