Well, I've just finished an _alpha_ release of OCSmart Hacks tool. It is
what it name implies: a bunch of pretty dirty(!) hacks which fiddle with OSX
to support:
- disabling the annoying "feature" of making a new document whenever an
application goes foreground;
- changing the window order just by clicking (almost like it was in
NeXTStep: you can send any window to background, or bring any window to
foreground, without changing main/active window or active application);
- tear-off menus.
The current release is a typical alpha, eg. the menus are by default torn to
30,1000, since I use screen resolution of 1600x1200; there are also many
problems caused by Apple AppKit/Quartz, which don't want to co-operate ;)
And, of course (and inevitably), it works in native Cocoa applications only.
The reason of this message is to _ask you whether there would be any
interest_: if so, I'll prepare a releasable beta; if not, I won't bother,
since for mine needs the current alpha is all right.
