If only there were a Cocoa/C compiler that would generate multi-platform Java-like byte code, then Cocoa would rule the world...

Cocoa can be as portable as GCC. What's holding it back isn't the availability of cross-platform technology, it's the lack of outrage from developers who were promised for three years that Cocoa would be cross-platform.
