I would like to know not only the answer to this question but also
how apps in the X Finder determine while file types to accept when
files are dragged onto an app's icon. I have a PowerPlant app that
works fine under 9.x using the standard 'BNDL' resources of 'APPL',
'fold', and '****' (for all files). But this mechanism does not seem
to work at all in the X Finder.

Hi,
Anyone knows how to get the drop location of drags to the Finder?
Something like promiseHFS in Carbon?
What I would like to achieve is exactly that. I would like to
promise a file to the Finder but I don't have the file yet... so I
need the drop location so I can create the file in the right place
later (when the job that creates the file finishes).
Any ideas? Any experience on mixing drag manager calls with Cocoa-dragging?
