There's a point in keeping the button as well. It's a clear
and easy to understand interface. I seldom create more than
one or two levels at the time, and I doubt my mother would.

Save panels recognizing the slash seems a nice feature for
expert users like us here on the list, the button seems a
nice interface for the regular user... like my mom.

Sorry about the cross post, but it seems relevant in both forums
as the feature request was raised on the PB users list...

Cheerio,
Malte

Actually, I don't give a damn whether there is a "New Folder" button or not.
I would *EXTREMELY* appreciate though if the slash can be normally entered
(not being nonsensically replaced by a hyphen)!!!

As soon as they correct that behaviour, you'll be able to enter directly the
desired path, and it will be automatically created if it does not exist yet.
That is *CONSIDERABLY* more conveninent (expecially in cases when you need
to create more folders at once) than using the button. Currently it is
possible only for absolute paths, which is ridiculous.
