Cocoa is a new name for OpenStep, and OpenStep was designed in America (by
NeXT and Sun). That's why.

Besides, I would estimate that indeed a majority of OpenStep/Cocoa
programmers are, and will be for some time to come, Americans.

Well, I do agree heartily, but I am afraid it can't be helped. I tend to use
"american" identifiers even in my private code, as much as I personally
don't like the spelling, since I don't want inconsistencies like

[NSCol_o_r col_ou_rFromSomePrivateCategory]

Incidentally, have you noticed the typical (AFAIK) American howler in the
standard Tool template code? I mean the comment about insurance, where we
just wanted to ensure something ;)))
