Hi :)
From what I can gather from the apple site, ASS is
basically, AppleScript but with Widgets. You can design
forms and dialogs then write simple AppleScript behind the
scenes to handle the flow of the application. I am not
really sure how powerful this is and I would not recommend
writing anything bigger than the simplest programs in it but
it does look like it will be a great way for users to
automate tasks more easily and make good looking 'applications'.
Maybe think of it as Visual Basic for applications but more
aimed at the user, not the programmer.

So, I've been hearing bits and pieces about AppleScript Studio for the
last two days, and from what I can gather, it's intended to give
RealBasic a run for its money. Can anyone with some hands-on
experience give us a quick rundown of ASS (what an unfortunate
acronym), and how it relates or doesn't relate to Cocoa development?
I think it uses IB. At least Apple's screen shots of the controls
available look like it, and Scott Herz talked about adding an item to IB
while referring to ASS.
An extremely wild guess of mine: it's a layer above Cocoa, something
like an AS-to-ObjC-bridge.
