This is a known bug. I reported it months ago, and it's still listed as
open in apple's bug database (2935516). Other people confirmed it on the
projectbuilder-users list as well.
FYI, my report:
* TITLE/SUMMARY
Once in awhile while editing a file in ProjectBuilder (e.g. commenting
out a few consecutive lines of code by typing slash slash down left slash
slash down left, etc), the editor window will decide to SCROLL TO THE END
of the document as if I had pressed the End key or Cmd-Down.
* STEPS TO REPRODUCE
While not absolutely necessary to be in a key-repeat situation, this is
the easiest way to induce the symptom:
1. place the insertion point at an arbitrary position in a document window.
2. hold down a standard character key until it begins to auto-repeat.
3. simultaneously press the down-arrow key while still holding the first key.
* RESULTS
I have found that roughly 70% of the time, the document I am editing will
spontaneously scroll to the end as if I had pressed command-DownArrow or
the End key. This occurs even while typing keys quickly in succession
(not simultaneously), as in "slash slash down-arrow" when
commenting out lines of code. Extremely annoying!
* REGRESSION
I first observed this while using the Dec. 2001 dev tools (PB 1.1.1); it
still occurs with the beta April 2002 version of PB.
* NOTES
I enquired about this bug on the projectbuilder-users mailing list, and
several other users corroborated it. No feedback has yet been posted by
Apple engineers however. Please see the mailing list archives for
details on other user experiences with this bug.
