Can you mount a .sit.hqx file remotely?
The point is 99% _mac_ users absolutely do not need nor know to mount
a .dmg
remotely through terminal commands.
Still there is no need to limit the capabilities in this fashion.
Hell, Apple builds a box specifically targetted to remote mounting
now.. xServe.
BTW: Many people on this list seem to forget the definition of an
"end-user": they even confuse it with their own person i.e. an advanced
power-user / developer / UNIX geek. People _mostly_ buy Macs because
it's
easy to use, cool looking and productive, not to do weird stuff with
UNIX
deamons, terminal commands, X-Window and so on.
Apple is desperately trying to break out of the old Mac realm... and
hit the Unix desktop... they need to serve both camps, and that can
support advanced features without the expense of the user.
Ensuring that there are command line equivs does not complicate the
mom/pop user experience at all. But it does make it possible to use
the Mac in a corporate setting..
