I thought that would have been the case. Its normally a good idea.
In fact it has been the way to do it by the Humans Interface
books by Apple.

arrows in Mail?
The spinning arrows in Mail is a carbon control, you can use that
or you can use the spinning arrows from the Omni's Group Extensions
to the Appkit.
