Dear Developer,
We're developing what we hope will be a killer new application that
facilitates the sharing of digital photos. It's a peer-to-peer app
called InstaPix, and it lets you create and share "galleries" of
pictures. All you have to do is create a gallery, drop some photos in,
invite friends to share the gallery**, and InstaPix does everything
else, synching everyone's galleries automatically.
(**Of course, everyone you invite also needs to be a registered InstaPix
user.)
We're hoping to enlist your help in pounding on this app. Some feedback
would be nice too.
It's not an open source project, and we plan to make it a commercial
product. We'd be eternally grateful (and will give you a year's worth of
service) if you would be willing to help us beta test for a while.
Here's what you need:
* A Mac running Mac OS X Version 10.1.5 or newer
* A digital camera, or access to lots of your own photos (worth sharing)
* An internet connection (high speed works better, duh)
* Hopefully, a couple of pals who will also beta test for us
* Go to the site
http://www.instapix.com and download the beta.
The thing is, this app is all about sharing. So after you register and
pick a user name, you need to know the user names of a couple of other
people who are using the app so you can share. It works exactly like
your favorite IM client; so you need to know the other people's names.
You can accomplish this by emailing your friends using "Tell A Friend".
Or, we'll be contacting you about plans we have for a bulletin board.
Thanks
WSSC, Inc.
P.S. - And how much is this going to cost when the Beta is over?
A. - InstaPix is a commercial product, and when the beta period is over,
we will charge for the application. We have not yet determined the exact
pricing model, and will be gathering feedback during the beta period to
help inform our decision. We value your feedback, which you can send us
via email at
mailto:email@hidden.
