Such operations are not to be done, period. If you wanna to rename
folders or even disks, do so whilst there are no open files on them,
*OR* make sure you know exactly what is happening.
And you expect all users to think this way, especially when they are
unfamiliar with the intricacies of how disks work? They just expect
their computer to do what they want it to do, and not have to bother
with the details.

Definitely. Much better than some mysterious and randomly crashing
magic.
I have yet to see an alias "crash".
