I'd like to add that there's a very good reason for this - it wouldn't
be that hard to write a virus that would automatically copy itself to
CD's you burned and set itself to start automatically when the CD was
inserted. In fact, there was a worm that did just this with the
AutoStart feature in OS 9, with the effect that the first thing a smart
Mac user would do after he/she installed the OS would be to immediately
go turn that feature off.

Autostart is not possible on OS X, unless you have a daemon that
monitors for your CD insertion running, in which case you can get
similar functionality.
