I don't know if you remember a product from Hutchinson Avenue Software,
called the P-Kit. This framework is actually partly a replacement of
EOF, although it's not dealing with SQL. It only had an adaptor for O2
and flat-files. It was more made for OODBMS: I have the source of this
kit (which I could also hand you over) and I'm actively completing it
and bringing it up to date in my spare time.
There's Gnustep's EOF clone...
