OK - let's assume it is a consequence of having to run the cache to zero
before pausing. That sounds like a pretty useless pause functionality.
The QT pause mechanisms stop instantly (on the same sound clips).
"How does QT do this and why doesn't NSSound", he paused to say (anyone
remember Switfties?).
