Hi,

Is there any way to know what is the current position and
size (as a NSRect, for instance) of the icon of the current
app in the dock.

No.

In the old days of NeXTStep, the dock window used to belong
to the application, thus its position was easy to know, and
adding custom NSViews was possible.

The Dock is an application of its own now.

You can set your apps' icon to any image you want, but not a NSView. You might try something with Dock Menus. I don't think you can do anything with other people's apps.

Unless I missed something, those features seems to have
disappeared.

Any confirmation?
