Hi,
Does anybody on this list with a bit of time and experience think they
could help me figure out why I can't get the demo app in Quesa,
Quesa3DView, to work properly? The original author has not been around
in a long time.
I get a few warnings like this:
/usr/bin/ld: warning prebinding disabled because (__PAGEZERO segment
(address = 0x0 size = 0x1000) of
/Volumes/Clarke/Users/Brent/Programming/Other Projects/Multi-
platform/quesa/SDK/Extras/Cocoa
Example/Quesa3DView/build/QuesaCocoaTest.app/Contents/MacOS/QuesaCocoaTest
overlaps with __TEXT segment (address = 0x0 size = 0xa0000) of
/Users/bgulanow/Library/Frameworks/QuesaCocoa.framework/Versions/A/QuesaCocoa
When I run it, it does bad things to Aqua/Quartz and is effectively
unresponsive. Sometimes a few clicks get a response five or ten seconds
later, and then sometimes no events get through at all -- can't switch
apps or force quit and Dock won't respond. The graphics artifacts
involve not redrawing all dirty screen areas, drawing pieces of widgets
in the wrong place, and, once, drawing just plain noise in a part of the
title bar. Are these bugs because of the issue that triggers the
warnings?
I'm really hoping that someone (maybe an Apple engineer?) could grab
Quesa and try building the PB project for the QuesaCocoa framework and
then trying to build the demo app. Any comments would be appreciated.
I'm not actually helping with development per se, being only a student,
but I'd like to use Quesa for Cocoa. Right now that's not possible, and
I don't know if it's something on my end or something in the project
itself.
Furthermore, a rather problematic hitch to this is that accessing the
CVS using cvs in BSD messes up the Quesa.pbproj file (I get an error
that says it starts with unrecognizable characters). However, MacCVS Pro
does not cause this problem -- that is what the Quesa developers use,
most of whom are working with Carbon and CodeWarrior.
Quesa is here:
http://www.quesa.org/
If you have MacCVS Pro, they have the CVS file for download, otherwise
its
[dair@zoidberg]$ cvs -d
:pserver:email@hidden:/cvsroot login
(Logging in to email@hidden)
CVS password: anonymous
[dair@zoidberg]$ cvs -d
:pserver:email@hidden:/cvsroot -z 9 co quesa
Thanks in advance,
Brent
