As far as, Cocoa moving to pure Java in five year is concerned (Thats what a lot
of people were predicting five years ago, when the question of learning objective-C came up).
All you have to do is look at what happened when WebObjects moved to pure Java. It put the product in
comatose, mind you dot-con did not help. All the Objective-C guys basically left the
platform for cocoa jobs (I wonder where those jobs are besides at Apple, not everyone wants to move to San Jose).
The customer just wanted J2EE. No marketing was done as promised. Cross platform
development was destroyed. Buggy release was shipped, further alienating everyone.
WebObjects most likely will become internal to Apple soon. I wonder to whom they are going
to market WO51, just the converted. Talk about stealth releases.

I bet you Apple could make Carbon cross platform faster than Cocoa.

Market to Higher Education, they have already been alienated. Market to
Enterprise, they have already been alienated. Only people still glutton for punishment are
the NeXTStep developers who are hoping for return of the glory days.

Nissus, How long does it take to create Word Processor with Cocoa. Did they hire any
NeXTStep developer. Too bad you could not buy the Word processor in possession of Sun,
Or you could just hire Omni thats what Lighthouse use to do.

Thanks,

Rajnish
