Saving the visible state of the window

Hy there,
I keep trying to find a way to save the visible state of a window (to be
more precise, of a panel).
To save the panel's position on the screen, I'm using saveFrameUsingName:
and
it is working just fine.
Can anybody give me a hint ? I think there should be something easy but I'm
overlooking it !
