Hello all,

I hope this question is appropriate for this list. If it isn't, just let me
know, and I'll search elsewhere for the answer. I was referred to this list,
so I hope I am not inadvertently intruding.

I am working on a game that will be a hybrid release (OS 9, OS X and
Windows).

Since OS 9 and Windows have a autorun feature implemented, I am fairly happy
with the way they are presented to the user. OS X doesn't support autorun
for applications (as far as I can tell- please correct me if I am wrong).

So, I put together a nice Finder window background (in .tiff format), made a
128 x 128 icon for the application, and put it all on a .dmg with Disk Copy.
Burned it to a CD ROM, and it looks great when the CD is opened (if I do say
so myself ;-).

However, I got an ugly surprise when I inserted the CD into different Macs.
On some Macs, the window is sized too small. Others, it is too big. Some are
perfect. I tested this on several lab machines in Field of Dreams with the
same results.

Any suggestions as to how to get the window to appear identically on any OS
X Mac? Any workarounds?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Sincerely,

Jim
