Well, it happened to me with Snapz Pro. I've forgotten the exact
circumstances, but I believe it was because I had reinstalled everything I
own on a new disk (after a disk died and I had to replace it), and I
discovered that it wouldn't accept my old password while I was getting
everything reorganized at 30,000 feet over Des Moines. It was an
inconvenience, not the end of the world.
But it does point out one of the pitfalls that good registration schemes
have to deal with to keep their customers happy.
This is not to say that I have anything against Ambrosia. I'm a paid owner
of several of their titles, and I think they're great -- especially
Maelstrom.
