IIRC, it used to be done in OpenStep by some menu command (which I've never used myself, so don't remember its name). So there might be the appropriate method still, but I would rather implement it myself (it would be, estimated, ten-odd source lines) for the advantage of being able to control how the arrangement is done in details.
