Appleevent and thread

I fairly new to thread and was wondering if it is a good idea to handle appleevent in a thread and how i would go about that.

I see one function in NSAppleEventManger that i could override to spawn a new thread: dispatchRawAppleEvent:withRawReply:handlerRefCon:, would that be a good idea, a bad idea, possible...
