I'd like to define a "global shortcut". This means that I want to let my App do something special
when the User presses a combination like CMD+ALT+CRTL+N.

If you're using Carbon, read the documentation on HotKeys (part of Carbon Events). If you're using Cocoa, search the archives for some sample code.
