dd: send password with sudo/login

is it possible to log in (or sudo) and provide the appropriate password in one line in Terminal? i've tried a number of configurations and can't seem to make it happen. i'd like to be able to type one line and log in rather than having to type my username, hit return, and type my password. since Terminal remembers previous commands, and the password would be remembered along with the command, i'm thinking i'm out of luck. what i'm trying to do, though, is send a shell command from another app that logs me in as sudo or another user automatically. i know it's possible, because it's an option in System Prefs.

thanks.
