But I didn't know option-click even *did* this, and I've been using OS
X since it was called NeXTSTEP. I'm guessing the numbers of users of
your app that will hit this bug is pretty close to zero.
Mac users (at least this one:-) are used to apps implementing option
click for close all. I'd expect more than 0 people to run into this.
I said close to zero, not zero. I stand by that, as I stand by my
assertion that trying to work around every last Kit bug will keep you
busy 'til the cows come home and then some. This is a prime example of
a bug that the developer community should simply wait for Apple to fix.
Every developer trying to work around the bug (each in a different way,
probably) will just waste a lot of everybody's time, and quite possibly
lead to a bunch of broken apps when Apple fixes the bug in a way that
turns out to be incompatible with people's hack workarounds.
If Apple posted the entirety of Radar's contents to a public web site,
would you then go and try to work around every bug in the Radar database
that bit your app? Do you know how impossible of a task that would be?
Apple will probably fix this bug in the next release. Users who use
option-click have probably already learned that it is broken in every
Cocoa app when a sheet is running, and have probably already learned not
to do that. :->
