Oh, I'd be quite surprised if Frontbase, OpenBase, FileMaker and other smaller user oriented solutions couldn't find a business case..

open source ones for mysql, postgress for example..

and the others would require a generic JDBC adaptor. While that would be Java based, the rest wouldn't need to be.

I know that Sybase announced drivers for Mac OS X for sometime this year. And I also remember Oracle said something about client support for Mac OS X at some WWDC I attended - i didn't follow how far that went along. Of the interesting ones that would leave DB2 and MS-SQL Server out of the picture.
