Yes, everything is possible!

Go ahead. If you have Mac OS X, install the developer tools right now,
and start programming.
Hint: In the 'Help' menu, click "Cocoa Help", and find the Currency
Converter tutorial.

When you've gone through the tutorials, you'll have a solid start, and
can actually start developing
your application immediately. (This was how I did the application I
finished recently!)
