In my Cocoa app, I think I noticed this first on 10.2. The row
selection highlight color is the correct hue according to system
prefs, but it's dark dark dark. too dark. I'm looking at other Cocoa
apps, like Omnioutliner, and they don't have this problem. Is there
something in NSTableView or NSOutlineView, or Interface Builder which
I can look for to figure out why the highlight color is so dark in my
app?
Read the AppKit release notes. It is the new sanctioned way for
highlighting lists.
Ah OK thanks. Skimmed the AppKit release notes too rapidly before.
After reading the "Alternate Selection Colors" info, I still think it's
too dark of color, but it's not too bad considering the contrasting
text foreground color it uses. I searched this list but didn't see any
discussion. Does anyone else feel the same way about the [NSColor
alternateSelectedControlColor]? How many developers are actually using
the default NSAlternateListHighlightCompatibility_10_1?
