Signed up for the WO dev list yesterday and haven't got a single message.
Read the WO overview doc; looks like a good platform for ecommerce
development (I'm getting an Xserve) but it scares me that there's no
activity on the list. Don't want to get involved with an environment that
has no user support.

Any opinions?

WO are the best web-app development environment ever made. Alas, Apple nearly killed it by removing the ObjC support, succeeding so to change something which in NeXT time sold like hot cakes for $30K apiece to something which nobody wants now for $500 :(((

That said, despite the Java thing and other problems, it's still the best one available, though the edge is not as great as it used to be. Go for it -- you won't regret.
