Could someone explain to me the reasoning behind killing the Obj-C support? I've really gotten the hang of this language in the past year and love it...why would they remove support for it?

Happily coding in Cocoa and Obj-C...

This question has been asked dozens of times over the last 18+ months and there does not seem to be any answer that makes any sense whatsoever. Indeed, almost every genuine Cocoa Guru on this list has lamented this omission at some point, usually more than once. It is the sorest of sore points, to be sure. Some theories have been promoted: too many other fish to fry; some conspiracy vis-a-vis Oracle or M$, or ???, roll your own. In any event, Apple is mute, as Apple is wont to be, so all is speculation. Personally, I think it is just a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing; some jackass made a bad decision and no one who understands the situation at Apple has the clout to do anything about it without risking their job. Either that or Jobs has some master plan that requires that Apple remain clinging to a ~3% market share.
