I _am_ a writer--novels, gasp--and I can assure you that it is plenty hard to write well in your first language! A really good editor is key. Heller's title for his first novel was Catch Seventeen! His editor changed it to Catch-22. I know full well that I'm asking for the moon and the stars pleading for a "well written" beginner's book on Cocoa programming, because having also written technical manuals I know just how much work it is to get it right. It would be a rare person, indeed, who had the depth of knowledge vis-a-vis Cocoa, Unix, Obj-C, NeXTStep history, et cetera, _AND_ knew how to teach well, _AND_ a command of English. Such a person is out there, somewhere, and Apple should make it a top priority to find him or her, and pay really big bucks. Over four billion in cash, so they can afford to invest in the future; that's what I'm after. As I said, it's too late for me.
