The idea of an open source project had occurred to me as well--I'm
always a proponent of taking things into your own hands rather than
simply complaining about the tools available--but it seems like a
pretty daunting project. I'm no EOF expert, but my limited experience
with WebObjects would suggest that in addition to the actual Framework
classes, it would probably involve creating something along the lines
of EOModeler, as well as database drivers (I guess maybe you could take
advantage of Jaguar's ODBC support by building the whole thing on top
of that?). At any rate, it seems like more than a one person job!
If such a project does take off, however, I move the we avoid trademark
disputes with Apple, while simultaneously paying homage to EJB and this
thread, by christening it "Enterprise Cocoa Nuts" :-).
