Take it to a local printshop and ask them to perfectbind it for you. Should
be about $10-15. I would think the 3-ring more useful, since it will lay
flat. You might have to print the document on something heavier than
laserwriter bond paper to get the result you want.
Kinkos might be able to do this whole thing for you online, but I didn't
feel like wading through their system to get the answer.

Great hardcover AppKit (and Foundation) docs can be obtained quite
easily, as it turns out, using a process that involves the PDF

Sure.. but 5000 pages is a toner cartridge (or a bushel of
ink jet cartridges). a box of paper, and unless you have a
duplexer, twice the required thickness.
I only have 1062 pages of Foundation and 1853 of AppKit... am I missing
something? Still, I agree it'd be a huge hassle to print and punch 2915
pages just to get a version heavier than my Mac and without bookmarks,
links or searching. If I wanted AppKit docs I could read in bed with
minimal discomfort, I'd prefer a Newton book. ;) Sorry, I know this is a
bit off-topic. --
