Insane? That's an extremely strong statement. There are many more
'insane' things in the world than an extra invisible character in a
selection, or a milli-second pause in order to drag some text.
Argh, that argument could be used to defend just about any horrible
interface idea.
I fail to see what any of this has to do with "9". I'm talking about
problems with NSLayoutManager in relation to NSLayoutManager. My
complaint isn't simply that it doesn't behave like Carbon, but that
it behaves in an INFERIOR manner.
That's an opinion. Saying that it doesn't behave the same as a
Carbon app is a fact. Filing a Radar that they don't behave the same
will get them fixed. Ranting about an opinion won't.
Ha, I've been reporting it since 10.0. Apple knows damn well the
behavior is inconsistent; unfortunately, they don't seem to care. :-(
Anyways, I'd suggest you look at 10.2 and see if it fixes these
issues for you. If so, it's a cheap $130 fix for insanity (I've got
more invested and am nowhere near close to sane)
Unfortunately, the behavior is exactly the same in Jaguar.
