Hi All,

The Chicago Cocoa And WebObjects User Group (CAWUG) is holding our first meeting of this fall on Tuesday, October 1st.

Agenda:
- Introductions & Announcements
- Jonathan Rentzsch on Project WONDER
- Eric Peyton on Apple Rendezvous
- Pizza & Q&A

When: Tuesday, October 1st, 6:00 PM
Where: Apple's Chicago Office
10 S. Wacker, 33rd Floor
corner of Wacker & Madison St.
1 block East of Nothwestern train station

Since this is our first meeting since WWDC, I hope that everyone had a nice summer break. This month we have 2 speakers. Also, for building security purposes, ***YOU MUST RSVP***. Even if you are barely remotely considering attending, please RSVP, and I'll just add your name to the list.

1) Jonathan Rentzsch is a commiter for Project WONDER**

Jon will provide an overview of Project WONDER and demonstrate a few cool things. For example, ERJavaMail, a multithreaded JavaMail-based framework for sending customized email messages from WO (complete with an optional WOMailDelivery-API-compatible class). Project WONDER's URL: http://wonder.sourceforge.net/

2) Eric Peyton of EpicWare & Fire.app fame.

Eric will demonstrate Apple's Rendezvous technology, briefly describe what it is, and show how you can add Rendezvous to your Cocoa Applications.

We will, as usual, also have Q & A and pizza, a discussion of future meeting topics and dates. We are probably going to set up an iCal calendar for the remaining meetings of the year that we will update as new meetings are scheduled, so that should make it easier to keep track of our meetings.

Also, if you are working on a project and would like to talk about it briefly / promote it, I think it would be fun for people to hear about other people's projects. Please email me off line and if there's time, you can talk this meeting or in a future meeting. I'm thinking that we could set aside a few minutes of each meeting for a quick chat with someone to feature their project for their company or work or a personal project.

-Bob

PS: ** For those of you that don't know, Project WONDER is one of the largest unified collection of open source WebObjects components and frameworks available in the public domain. Lots of very smart people work on Project WONDER (Jon is a very smart person?!?!? ;-) ... just kidding Jon).
