GPL'd software isn't completely unusable for commercial projects --
there's no clause in the GPL that says "you can't use covered software
commercially," or that says "you can't make money off of covered
software," despite what many people opposed to the GPL would have you
believe.
separate but connected question:
would including a gpl'd app within your bundle constitute separate from
your app? that's a gpl'd app still self contained, not actually mixed
with your code, just included within the bundle, rather than installed
somewhere else on the drive.
i would have thought that'd be absolutely fine, but some people have
given me the opposite impression.
from an outside point of view, it would appear to be incorporated, but
you wouldn't have to go into it too deeply to realise the two are
separate.
